Massage in Newport Beach or a Day Spa: How to Choose. Illustrative image.

If you’re deciding between an appointment with me and a day at a Newport Beach spa, start with what you want from the day. You might want a massage and a long afternoon with a friend. Or you might want one person to work with you on the shoulder tension that’s been bothering you all week. Both are good reasons to book, but they call for different things.

When a day spa makes sense

If you’re looking for amenities or several services in one visit, compare the spa packages. Some places offer more than massage, but don’t assume a steam room, couples appointment, or pool is included. Ask what the price covers and how long you can use the facilities.

I wouldn’t tell you to give up a spa day if that’s what you’d enjoy. The setting, time away, and chance to go with someone else can be as important as the massage itself.

What an appointment with me is like

At my office, I start by asking what brought you in and what approach feels right to you. I offer prenatal massage, trigger point therapy, and sports or neuromuscular therapeutic massage. I use the sports and neuromuscular terms for the same service in my practice.

You can tell me, “My shoulders tighten up after work,” or “I’m pregnant and having trouble getting comfortable.” That gives us a place to start without having to choose a technique first. You see me personally, and we plan the appointment around your main concern.

That doesn’t mean a spa therapist can’t offer focused work. Many do. Wherever you book, ask who will see you, how they’ll discuss your goals, and whether you can adjust the pressure or focus during the session. Those answers tell you more than the name on the menu.

My prices and booking arrangements

I charge $145 for 60 minutes and $195 for 90 minutes. Infrared light therapy is included, usually for 20 to 30 minutes during the massage, within your booked time. Ask me before your appointment if you have questions about using it.

I confirm bookings personally by text or phone. My office and appointment page has the details for 100 W Coast Highway, Suite 206, Newport Beach. You can park on any floor; the second floor is closest to the suite, and there’s an elevator.

I don’t charge cancellation fees. If cancellations become frequent, we’ll talk about whether advance booking is working for you. If you’re late, I’ll give you the full session when my schedule allows. Otherwise, I’ll explain that we need to end at the original time.

What I mean by a therapeutic appointment

I’m talking about massage shaped around your comfort and the areas you want me to focus on. I’m not diagnosing an injury or promising a lasting fix. If you have new weakness, severe pain, or symptoms that concern you, get medical advice before booking.

If you’re comparing appointments, ask what the price includes, who will do the massage, and how changes of plan are handled. If you’d like to book with me, text or call him with your preferred day and session length. Tell me the main thing you’d like to focus on, and I’ll confirm a time with you.
