If you’re looking for a hospital tour, birth preparation or feeding support, Hoag has several places to start. I don’t have a direct contact at Hoag or a partnership with them. I’ve organized the options from their OB Education page below so you can go straight to the kind of help you’re looking for.
Tours and orientation
Hoag lists a maternity orientation in Newport Beach (in person) and maternity tours at both its Newport Beach and Irvine locations, in person or virtual. Check the campus and format when you register so you don’t end up with a tour of the wrong location.
Childbirth preparation
Hoag offers an in-person Prepared Childbirth class. For parents who can’t attend live, there’s an online option, the Understanding Birth eClass, which you can take at home.
Baby care and the fourth trimester
Other classes include Baby Care Basics and Baby Safety (both in person) and a 4th Trimester online class. The list also includes a hospital bag guide, a mindfulness workshop for pregnant and new moms, and support groups.
Breastfeeding and BabyLine
Hoag BabyLine is answered by an OB Education registered nurse at (949) 764-2229, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Hoag also runs a one-hour one-on-one Breastfeeding Clinic with an IBCLC registered nurse, at Hoag Health Center Newport Beach, 500 Superior Avenue, Suite 300B. Appointments are required, and Hoag’s page lists a $45 fee. They also rent hospital-grade breast pumps.
Postpartum and pelvic health
The OB Education list also mentions a Pelvic Health Program, Hoag at Home Postpartum+, and Maternal Mental Health services. If pelvic symptoms are part of your recovery, my guide to physical therapy, chiropractic and massage in Newport Beach includes Hoag Pelvic Health among the practices it covers.
Where massage fits
If you’d also like a massage, you can book that separately with me. I’ll ask what you want to focus on and what your care team has advised. I start prenatal sessions after 12 weeks and require your OB/GYN’s clearance if your pregnancy is high risk; more on prenatal massage here. After birth, this postpartum support plan shows where massage might sit alongside everything else.
To arrange an appointment, text or call me.
Please confirm fees, hours, locations and class availability with Hoag before making plans. Ask whether the class is live or self-paced and whether a support person can attend. I can’t register you or arrange care through Hoag.
